FY 2011 budget clears House

The House passed the 2011 budget by a vote of 120 to 52.
According to Rep. Steve Davis (R-McDonough), via Twitter, Rep. David Lucas (D-Macon) proposed an amendment to fund the halls of fame in Macon. It failed, 62 to 107. Rep. Bobby Franklin (R-Marietta) proposed an amendment to abolish the Department of Human Services. [...]

FY 2011 budget passes committee

The House Appropriations Committee passed the FY 2011 budget by a vote of 61-8.
Money for the College Football Hall of Fame stayed in, but other halls of fame and pet projects are gone.
The budget will hit the floor of the House tomorrow.

Revenues up in March

After months of declining revenues, tax collections were up in March:
Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that net revenue collections for the month of March 2010 (FY 2010) totaled $998,239,000 compared to $987,986,000 for March 2009 (FY09), an increase of $10,523,000 or 1.0 percent. This is the first monthly increase in revenues since November 2008.

As mentioned on Wednesday night, the legislature is taking a two week break (actually, 2 1/2 weeks) to deal with the FY 2011 budget. They’ll reconvene on March 9th.

Senate Appropriations moves FY 2010 amended budget
