Transportation is an issue again as legislators try to come up with an agreement on a new funding mechanism. Here is the segment on transportation from last night’s Lawmakers.

According to the AJC, both Speaker Richardson and Gov. Perdue are in favor of a statewide plan. Lt. Gov. Cagle has doubt if that would pass the Senate.

Also, Sen. David Shafer (R) has a proposal, SB 19, that would change the accounting system of the Georgia Department of Transportation. Projects that have been halted because of the new method of accounting would be given the green light to build as money comes available.
